Penny lab

Procedure: Put one penny down on a paper towel and then dropped droplets of water on to the penny until the  water spilled over the edge.
Hypothesis: My prediction was that I would be able to fit 8-10 drops on a penny.
Result: The actual result was 21 drops of water.
Explanation: I believe I got these results because of surface tension. Surface tension pulls water molecules tightly together to form a dome. This tension allowed more water to stay on top of the penny.
I learned that water has a lot of surface tension and is cohesive. Surface tension pulls water molecules together.
